In this training, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and its unique characteristics and challenges. You will be able to identify and appreciate the critical transition stages that individuals with autism go through, spanning early adolescence, late adolescence, and early adulthood, while understanding the key developmental milestones within these stages. Additionally, you will recognize the pivotal role of person-centered planning in tailoring transition plans to individual strengths and needs. Furthermore, you will explore practical strategies for facilitating a smooth transition from school to further education or vocational training, as well as navigating the complexities of employment and independent living. Lastly, you will learn to access and leverage available resources and support networks, and be inspired by real-life success stories of individuals who have successfully transitioned into adulthood while living with autism.
